Ford BlueCruise is set to transform the driving experience across Europe by introducing revolutionary hands-free technology on highways. This advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) allows drivers to enjoy a more relaxed journey without the need to keep their hands on the wheel, enhancing both comfort and safety. Following successful launches in the UK and Germany, BlueCruise has recently gained approval for use in Spain, making it the first automaker to offer such technology in the country. With over 260,000 vehicles equipped globally, Ford aims to reduce human error and improve road safety, marking a significant leap into the future of autonomous driving.

After being approved by the European Commission, the Ford BlueCruise1 hands-free highway driving technology is now available in a total of 15 European nations.

This enables users to travel over 82,744 miles of authorized roadways, or "Blue Zones," throughout Europe, enabling cross-border car trips. Consider the opportunities for a client who could utilize BlueCruise to travel about 1,864 miles and spend more than 25 hours driving hands-free across six countries, from Sweden to Italy.

Ford customers can now enjoy BlueCruise in 17 countries around the world thanks to this certification. America, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden are all included in this.

Over the past year, BlueCruise has gained popularity all over the world. When BlueCruise debuted in Great Britain in 2023, it was the first system of its sort to receive regulatory certification. It was also the first advanced driver aid system in Europe to provide true hands-free driving at highway speeds. Additionally, Ford was the first carmaker to be approved and launch hands-free highway driving in Spain. BlueCruise began serving customers in Germany as well.

BlueCruise can make sure that clients, whether they are taking a lengthy road trip or commuting in stop-and-go traffic every day, arrive at their destination feeling less tired and more energised. According to AAA, people drive for one hour every day on average. This can be physically taxing, mentally taxing, and exhausting.

Ford has already made more electric, hybrid, and gas-powered Ford and Lincoln vehicles—including the 2025 Ford Explorer and 2025 Lincoln Aviator SUVs—available with BlueCruise this year in North America. BlueCruise will be an option for all Lincoln U.S. models starting this summer with the delivery of Aviators.

American owners have discussed how BlueCruise is extending their driving hours. Peter Lamarine, the owner of an F-150 Lightning, for instance, stated, "BlueCruise transformed what was an entirely dull, monotonous ride into something that is now enjoyable." Driving to and from work is the nicest part of my day, and working is the worst.

Over 420,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with BlueCruise are currently in use worldwide. Along with utilizing BlueCruise for over 3.1 million hours, customers in the US and Canada have also accrued over 213 million hands-free miles. That is a greater distance than the orbit around the sun.
